Young Foxes Hockey, a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation, is a developmental ice hockey
program open to boys and girls ages 5–13.
Our program focuses on skill development in skating,
hockey strategies, and the rules of the game. YFH practices once a week and plays games during the
season with other local developmental teams.

Young Foxes Hockey was created in the summer of 1990. It is comprised of players in seventh grade
and younger who are interested in learning to skate and play hockey. Prior skating or hockey
experience is not required. There is no geographic residency requirement to participate in our
program. Because the YFH home ice rink is in Harmarville, PA, most of our players come from within
the City of Pittsburgh and from communities to the north of Pittsburgh (Harmar, O’Hara, Fox Chapel,
Deer Lakes, Tarentum, Cheswick, Oakmont, Indiana Twp., Shaler, etc). All are welcome to join YFH!

Our season operates mid-September through mid-March.  We also offer a 6 week summer camp
starting in July.  Our home ice rink is Blade Runners Harmer. Players are separated into three groups
based on age and ability as follows:         Sundays, 4:00-4:50PM, Mite/ADM Cross-Ice (ages 5-8)
                                                                  Sundays, 4:50-5:40PM, Squirt (ages 9-10)
                                                                  Sundays, 5:50-6:50PM, PeeWee (ages 11-12)

YFH provides great opportunity for young players to improve their skills and gain confidence on the ice
with minimal time commitments.
